The Toad Blessing
Upon taking residence in a new property, there is a west country ritual employing the toad to make the new occupation a fortunate one. A fine black toad is to be carried to the front door of the property and solemnly brought through the house and out of the rear door. Here, in the garden of the property, the creature is set free to dwell and care is given to seeing that it's needs are met and comfort provided. The presence of a black toad will bestow blessings of good fortune upon the property and it's inhabitants, as well as ensuring a fruitful garden.
